With a 2-0 win over Vandalia Butler on Thursday night, Tippecanoe claimed the outright Miami Valley League championship.
Both teams entered the meeting with 8-0 conference records, setting up a winner-take-all matchup with Troy the next closest contender at 6-2.
Neither team found the back of the net in the first half.
Tipp struck first early in the second when sophomore Landon Haas scored on an assist from junior Caleb Ransom.
It didn’t take long for the Red Devils to add an insurance goal as junior Caden Turner headed in a Haas free kick.
The result held and Tipp captured its 4th straight MVL title and 8th straight conference title (Tipp was in the GWOC from 2016-18 and CBC in 2015). Overall, it was the Red Devils’ 32nd conference championship in 41 years of existence.
